Terms and Conditions:

  • Self-nominations must be submitted by close of business Friday 10 August 2018 using the appropriate award category nomination form.
  • Third party nominations must be submitted by close of business Monday 18 June 2018 using the third party nomination form.
  • Nominees must meet the relevant eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria does not include early childhood educators in the formal years of schooling (Transition to Year 3).
  • Educators nominated for individual awards must be permanent residents or citizens of Australia and reside in the Northern Territory.
  • Services and programs nominated for the service awards must be located in the Northern Territory.
  • Nominations must be endorsed by the service’s approved provider or equivalent.
  • The response to each award category question must not exceed 300 words.
  • Supporting documentation, other than what is explicitly asked in the nomination form, will not be accepted. Shortlisted nominees may submit supporting documentation (not exceeding the equivalent of 20 single A4 pages) as part of the interview process.
  • No responsibility will be accepted for incomplete, damaged, corrupt or non-received entries.
  • Recipients of individual awards will receive a certificate, trophy and $3000 (inc GST) to contribute to their professional learning objectives and enhance their awareness and understanding of quality practices in education and care.
  • Recipients of service awards will receive a certificate, trophy and $3000 (inc GST) to contribute to the professional development of staff and quality improvements in the service or program.
  • Award recipients will be required to provide a short report to the Northern Territory Education and Care Awards Coordination Committee within 12 months of receiving the awards to demonstrate how the prize money has been spent to further their professional learning and improve the service.
  • Shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend the awards ceremony on Friday 6 October 2017, at Parliament House in Darwin. Financial support to assist with travel and accommodation costs will be provided to shortlisted nominees who reside outside of Darwin and Palmerston.
  • The judging panel reserves the right to withhold an award should there are no nominations that meet the award criteria.
  • The judging panel will contact the nominated referees and interview shortlisted nominees using a consistent approach.
  • The decision of the judging panel is final and not subject to appeal.
  • The judging coordinator will consult with Quality Education and Care Northern Territory (QECNT) to ensure shortlisted nominees are not the subject of significant non-compliance issues. QECNT will only divulge information that is publically available. If information provided by QECNT is considered detrimental, this information will be shared with the shortlisted nominee and natural justice will be afforded.
  • All submitted nomination forms will become the property of the Northern Territory Education and Care Awards Coordination Committee.
  • Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Northern Territory Education and Care Awards is not liable for any loss or damage suffered or sustained by award nominees or recipients as part of their participation in these awards.
  • The Northern Territory Education and Care Awards reserves the right to use the name and photographs and video or audio recordings of award nominees for marketing and promotional purposes relating to the awards, including but not limited to, printed publications, newsletters, posters, advertisements, websites, media releases and social media.
  • The Northern Territory Education and Care Awards reserves the right to wholly or partially revoke or alter these terms and conditions at any time.
  • Failure to comply with these terms and conditions may result in the non-acceptance of some nominations.
